Naltar Lake - Gilgit Baltistan

Naltar is a valley near Gilgit, Gilgit Baltistan province of
northern Pakistan. Naltar is 40 km away from Gilgit City and can be reached by
jeep due to poor road. Naltar is a forested village known for its wildlife. There
are five beautiful lakes at Naltar valley. One of the famous lake is green lake.

Rama is the small town of beautiful Astore Valley. It is
located on top of Astore. There are greenery and fields of wheat and maize. There
is a Lake named Rama Lake but not much greenery due to illegal logging of the
forest by locals and “timber Mafia”. The region has low average rainfall and
low vegetation cover hence the loss of forest cover is of very serious concern.

Deosai Lake also called Sheosar Lake is situated in Deosai
National Park Skardu, in Gilgit Baltistan province of northern Pakistan. The lake
is at an elevation of 4142(13,589 ft) in the karakoram-west. Its approximate
length is 2.3 kilometers and width is 1.8 km. the average depth is 40 meters.
